Ideally, one should eat a diet of 75% alkalizing foods and 25% acidic foods in a day. If we all did this we would catch far fewer colds, have a better chance of avoiding cancer and most likely maintain an ideal weight.
There are loads of resources for alkalinizing foods so start googling! Here are a couple of examples.
Sugar = Highly Acidic.
Watermelon = Highly Alkalinizing
