An interesting article on antibiotics
Too Many Antibiotics Are Making You Fat, by Kristen Philipkoski
BY KRISTEN PHILIPKOSKIBy age 18, most Americans have had up to 20 doses of antibiotics. And that might be making us fat.
According to a commentary published in Thursday's issue of Nature, over-killing bacteria might be causing obesity, diabetes, allergies and asthma.
That's because the human "microbiome" contains good bacteria along with the bad. The theory is that some bacteria protect against disease. One example is Helicobacter pylori. It's linked to ulcers and stomach cancer, so killing it can be a good thing. But scientists have also found that it protects against gastroesophageal reflux, which can lead to esophageal cancer. Absence of H pylori could even affect hormones.
Intriguingly, scientists are also finding that two hormones produced in the stomach – ghrelin and leptin – behave differently when H. pylori isn't around. Ghrelin is the hormone responsible for telling the brain that you're hungry and leptin is supposed to send the signal that you're full.
Martin Blaser, the doctor who wrote the commentary, even thinks doctors might one day need to replace lost "friendly flora" inside our hyper-clean microbiomes. And that's on to of the worrisome antimicrobial resistance that worries medical professionals. So next time you're feeling sniffly, don't be such a wuss. Think twice before you demand your amoxicillin.

New studies on vaccines
Several recent studies have linked mercury to serious harm in children.
Dr. Joachim Mutter, author of one of the newest mercury studies, found evidence confirming that mercury in vaccines and other medical products could trigger autism. Another recent study observed that organic mercury is added to vaccines without sufficient safety testing, and warned that the use of mercury-containing Thimerosal is "potentially damaging the health of children."
According to PR Newswire:
"[The] rationale for the removal of mercury from medicine and dentistry is clear. ... [T]he medical community needs to adapt to what we now know is best for our children's health."
One study (Mutter) noted:
"Prenatal exposure to maternal amalgam, maternal Thimerosal and postnatal sources (mercury from vaccines for the child) together with genetic susceptibility may trigger autism."
Swine flu vaccines contain Polysorbate 80, an agent linked with infertility in mice, which may extend to infertility in humans. There are 3,587 reports from women who lost their babies very shortly after getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, causing many to question the safety of this vaccine.

Treating viral infections with NIS
However...I find the science behind the treatment of viral infections with NIS seems to be somewhat misunderstood by some. When the DNA is subjected to viral antigens the viral nucleic acid DNA replicates using the host cell. During this process the host cell can become damaged. When we screen for viral activity we are essentially trying to ascertain what the brain ‘understands’ about the status of the tissue in the respective glands we are screening. |
